Goal for Operation Diabetes: Tdiabetes.
Personal Goal: My personal goal for the group is to increase the general public’s awareness of what diabetes is and how it can affect overall patient health. We will provide individuals with information regarding lifestyle habits that can not only effectively manage this disease state, but help to prevent it as well. We will do this through various health fair opportunities, as well as assisting the American Diabetes Association with their annual fundraising events.

What is Operation Diabetes?

Diabetes affects the health and wellbeing of people nationwide. Currently, one in four people in the United States has diabetes, has a family member with the disease, or will develop the disease. Of the 20.8 million people in the United States with diabetes, 6.2 million of them are undiagnosed. Since its inception in 2001, student pharmacists who have participated in Operation Diabetes have screened 77,633 patients, and have referred 7,247 patients to their physician for follow up care.
