What is IPSF?
"IPSF was founded in 1949 as a non-political and non-governmental organization to represent student pharmacists. The Federation currently represents approximately 350,000 students from over 90 different countries."

The objective of IPSF is to study and promote the interests of pharmaceutical students and to encourage international cooperation among them. IPSF accomplishes this objective by exchanging ideas with student pharmacists worldwide through the IPSF website, student exchanges, projects, and conferences."

Programs we're involved in:

  • AIDS Awareness Program
    • IPSF created the AIDS Awareness Campaign in order to help pharmacy students worldwide help young people fight against HIV/AIDS.  The aim of the project is to promote health through the prevention of HIV infection.  The campaign provides information to a target group of 12-16 year olds on HIV/AIDS, addresses attitudes and beliefs about this disease and helps build skills and self-esteem, but is not limited to this age group.
    • Dining Out for Life (AIDS Awareness event) was held on Tuesday, April 18th at the Dundee Dell.  It was held to socialize and contribute to a worthy cause.  Simply by Dining Out (a percentage of your bill, including bar tab, will be donated to the Nebraska AIDS Project), we are helping to fund programs that educate and prevent the spread of HIV while ensuring that compassionate support services will always be available for people living with HIV and AIDS in Nebraska
  • Tobacco Awareness Program
    • The Tobacco Awareness Campaign's aim is to prevent smoking among children from 10-12 years of age.  However, it is not limited to just this age group.  The focus of the campaign is mainly the health risks associated with smoking but also addresses the attitudes and behaviors associated with smoking.  Many schools have expanded this project into a smoking cessation project in their communities.
    • Tobacco Awareness Speaker was here on April 11th
  • WHO No Tobacco Day & World Health Day
  • SEP (Student Exchange Program):
    • SEP is a mobility program that gives students from all over the world a chance to experience pharmacy outside their own borders.  National and local student organizations within each country create host sites where pharmacy students receive training.  Training may be in any area of pharmacy:  community, hospital, industry, university and others.  The program runs year round but most exchanges occur between May and September and are one to three months in length.  Each year the program moves about 300 students worldwide.
